Still waiting for our Lucy Run pictures to develop. Apparently 1 hour photos actually means 1 week.

6/18 Lucy Run Cemetery
Today we headed to Lucy Run Cemetery. The story of this place goes like this:
A family, the Robinsons, settled here many years ago, in the mid-1800s. They had a beautiful daughter, Lucy, who was quickly proposed to. But, one stormy night, her fiancee came to tell her that he had met someone else and that he was breaking off the engagement. Before anything else could be said, he rode off into the storm. Upset, Lucy got on her horse to follow. But, when she reached the stream near her house, it had overflown in the storm. As she tried to cross the bridge, she was washed away, thrown from her horse, and drowned. The stream was known from then on as Lucy Run, and the nearby graveyard in which she was buried as the Lucy Run Cemetery. It is said that she can still be seen, running through the stream, looking for her fiancee.
We found the cemetery in Stonelick Township, near most the other places that we have already visited. The cemetery itself was really beautiful and picturesque. It sat on a steep hill, surrounded by iron gates. Half the tombstones were ancient, crumbling or broken in half, and mostly unreadable. The other half were relatively new. We looked around for a while before finding a group of graves with the name Robinson. We spoke to a spirit who identified as Andrew. We asked if we could speak to Lucy, and he said yes. When we spoke to Lucy, she told us that she was not at peace, but still looking for her fiancee. We then asked her to point us to her fiancee's grave. She pointed to a lonely grave, several feet away. It was half sunk into the earth, bent over and crumbling. The only word that was discernible on the stone was "Lucinda." We do not know if this was her fiancee's grave, or her own.
We were heading back to Milford when we found a sign pointing to "St. Philomena Church." Excited, we quickly followed the sign. About a mile down the road, we found the old supposedly satanic church. We had done what our Garmin could not, in that we had found the other way around to the church, avoiding the closed bridge. The church was once again locked, but the graveyard was rather busy. There was a car in the parking lot and a woman wandering around. A truck also pulled up and several other cars drove by. This was the most active we have seen this area yet. We found some really old graves, crumbling apart. There were some misplaced headstones, column shaped, that were sitting right beside each other. We could not read what was written on them, but there were metal hooks jutting out from each side. They were rusted over, and we don't know what they were for. It was a little strange....
It was getting uncomfortably busy, so we headed out. We visited Enchanted Moment and built some magickal protection charm bags, to keep us safe on our future journeys. Next we headed to Milford Main, but we could find no way to get in.
Here is a video of our adventure:
We have some exciting news. We have added a new member to our team!! Tony is my brother, and our new photographer. Here's a bad picture of him:
He took some great pictures. We'll have them up soon.
Also, we put an ad on craigslist looking for some new people to join our team. Hopefully we get some responses. If any of you are interested, leave a comment below or get a hold of us.

Storms Brewing 6/17
Today, we headed out to a couple locations to practice our skills. The following video give you a little taste of how our day went....
After visiting the satanic church, we decided to investigate some abandoned barns we came by. The inside was really amazing, but our camera was out of battery. We took out the pendulum and spoke to a spirit within the barn. Here's the conversation we had.
If there is anyone in here, will you move the pendulum- the pendulum moves.
***We then asked for the spirit to show a yes and a no, which it did***
Did you die here?-NO
Are you at peace?-YES
Do you mean us harm?-NO
Should we be wary of this barn?-YES
Should we leave now?-YES
So, obviously, we left. We didn't want to ignore any supernatural warnings. That would just be foolish.
We also tried to speak with some other spirits at the first cemetery, but the rain really ruined our attempts. We made sure to purify ourselves with sage several times through the day. Hopefully we can get back to it all tomorrow.

Father's Day Hunt 6/17
Hello all!
Today we decided to test out our tools a little more to see if they are truly legitimate. I still have my doubts, though the things we keep experiencing are really making me think...
We started out our adventure today around 2pm at the St. Andrew Cemetery. We caught this experience on video, which will be posted later today. I chose a random tombstone that Gwen had not seen. This was a lady named Catherine who had lived a long life. Gwen stood behind the tombstone with the pendulum and proceeded to ask questions. Catherine answered everytime, correctly to the questions we knew the answers to. She correctly told us her gender, birth year, that she was a mother, a grandmother, and that she had lived to a very old age. She also confirmed that she had lived through a few wars but none of her sons had fought in the wars. She told us she was married. However, we couldn't find her husband's tomb.
It is worth it mentioning that when we first entered the cemetary, two children were running around, both had to be under ten years of age. At this point, I wasn't surprised if they really were ghosts. They disappeared. As we were walking back to our car we saw one of the girls in the woods with a young man, and they were digging in the dirt. Keep in mind it was slightly sprinkling at this point. We have no idea what these young children were doing running around a cemetery in the rain, and digging in the woods, but it was definitely weird.
After we communicated with Catherine it was my idea to try to drive back to the Satanic church. We hadn't done this yet because the last time we tried, the bridge was closed. Since that experience, I had gained some insight from a coworker who confirmed the red church, St. Philomena, was in fact the Satanic church and that someone she knew used to go there. According to her, most of the people back in peaceful valley are part of a cult that meets at that church. So of course, we had to get to the bottom of this ourselves. My plan was to go to St. Philomena church. It was after all, a Sunday. I figured we could go in and grab a bulletin, and confirm or deny these rumors ourselves once and for all.
As we arrived at the covered bridge, it was once again closed, for reasons we really can't understand. We parked the car and walked under the signs across the bridge. We took some videos of this for you guys. We proceeded to walk past the houses, including the nice abandoned one to the church.
As we neared the church, the rain started to pour harder and harder. When we finally reached the church steps, it was torrential downpour. The front door of the church was locked. We walked around to the side, toward the cemetery. As we stepped on cemetary grounds, huge thunder errupted. The rain came down even harder and the wind started to blow extremely hard. We looked at some of the tombstones, many of them were of people who have died recently, with pictures on the stones. Finally the weather got so bad we decided we should head back to the car. We were soaked.
As we headed back, we noticed the house behind the red church. There are many legends about this house. Many people have said that when venturing back to the church at night, they can see someone in the window watching them. One person claimed that one night as they were driving back there, all of the lights in the house went out at once. It is also said that the number of lights on in the house is equal to the number of the people in your car. We aren't sure about any of these rumors. But one rumor that seems to be very popular is that of a black jeep/suv that will chase you out of peaceful valley if you venture back there uninvited. There was a black jeep parked outside of the house. With its drivers door open. No one was around the jeep. We could see no one. Just the door open, in the pouring rain. It stayed open like that for several minutes, until we couldnt see it anymore because we were too far away.
As we ventured away from the church the rain started to come down softer and softer. It was gradually softer as we drove away. Outside of peaceful valley there was no rain, only sun. We found this to be pretty interesting.
As we were driving to get coffee we passed a very decrepid looking barn. We really felt like we needed to check it out. We parked our car and walked over to the barn. Inside, it was in total disrepair. The ceiling was caved in. The barn was basically useless. Inside the barn were a few saddles hanging on the walls, and an axe hanging on the floor. Gwen wanted to use the pendulum here. She got a spirit in the barn to start answering her questions consistently. The spirit told us that he/she had not died in that barn, but that we should be wary of the barn, and we should leave immediately. We took the spirits advice, and headed back to the car.
Our final destination today was to go to the house of Earl. R. Jackson. This is a name that pops up on the Garmin when searching places of worship in the area. The last time we drove to the address, it was an abandoned looking house, overgrown with vines, with a small building behind it and a delapitated barn nearby. At the time we didn't get out of the car. Gwen said she wanted to call before we went to check the place out. We called the number online and the phone has been disconnected. However, if you google Rev. Earl R. Jackson Milford, OH online, you will find that this delapetated house is considered to be a baptist church since 2001, with two employees working there. We will definitely be investigating this house further.
Got some new leads today, more information to come, pics and vids too, stay tuned and have an epic father's day!

Wow.
Today was...amazing. For full details, read Holly's post below. The tool that worked best for me was the pendulum. It's a stone on the end of a chain. When we were communicating with the spirits, it was insane. It really felt like someone was pulling on the stone. Some questions made the stone swing so hard, I almost dropped it. I almost couldn't believe it. What an adrenaline rush. I almost couldn't concentrate at work today.
New Tools 6/15
Today was quite the day.
The highlight of our day today was our trip to Enchanted
Moments to meet the infamous Francine Haydon. Francine’s qualifications are as
follows:
Tarot Reader, Palmist, Ordained Minister, Medicine Wheel
Practitioner/ Teacher, CERTIFIED GHOSTHUNTER, hypnotherapist, and free soul
instructor.
If there was someone that could give us any insight on what
to do next, it was Francine.
We arrived at Enchanted Moments promptly at 1pm, when we
were told Francine would arrive. She was running a bit late, so we took a
little walk to Row House, known to be one of old Milford’s haunted places. We
perused that paintings a bit, saw many winged wolves, however…we felt no
spirits. Obviously we were not as gifted in our craft as we hoped.
We then headed to Gayles, a vintage clothing shop, also down
in Old Milford. We saw many wonderful garbs. Our logic is this…If we are
attempting to get in touch with old spirits, wearing clothes from that era
would help us to do that. We found two long black cloaks that we believe are a
necessity to our ghost hunting outfits, as well as silk gloves and hats which
appear to be from around the 18th century. We would have bought
these outfits immediately, however at the moment our funds are limited.
At around 1:30 we headed back to Enchanted Moments. To our
pure joy, Francine had arrived. We introduced ourselves to her and told her
about our experiences and upcoming plans. We asked her to insight us with her
wisdom, and tell us how to improve our techniques and where we should go
next. She was of unimaginable help and
introduced us to two amazing instruments used in spirit communication.
Now, I, Holly, like many of you…have questioned the
legitimacy of spirit communication in the past. Gwen has been much firmer a
believer than myself until today.
The first tool, were golden dowel rods. These L shaped rods
are used for spirit communication. You hold the short end in your hands, with
the long end facing straight forward. Both long ends must be parallel in front
of you. After you find your center of balance, and the dowel rods are still,
you ask the spirits, “Show me a yes”. THE RODS STARTED TO CROSS. Instead of
being like II <<this….then were like X<<< this!!!! Then, when
asking the spirits, “Show me a no.” The dowel rods returned to their parallel
position. Francine demonstrated this first. Me, being the skeptic I am, assumed
she must have been doing something to make the rods move. After trying myself,
I got the same result. I was as still as possible, and the rods still crossed
when I asked the spirits to show me a yes, and they uncrossed when I asked to
show me a no.
The second tools were pendulums. Francine demonstrated by
asking the same yes or no question to the spirits while holding the pendulum
still. When asking them to show yes, the pendulum swung side to side. When
asking to show no, the pendulum started swinging back and forth. I tried this myself. The pendulum acts
differently based on the person holding it. In my case, yes meant a very heavy
vibration of the pendulum. No meant that the pendulum went completely still.
Needless to say, we bought one of each of these tools and
with Francine’s advice, headed to the nearby graveyard at Camp Dennison. At first we kind of stumbled around, not
really sure what to do, randomly asking different graves questions. But eventually, we got the technique down. It was there that we proceeded to talk to
three spirits. I will transcript two of the conversations to you as follows.
1.

Did you have any daughters?-NO
Is Hester your mother?—NO
Is she related to you?—YES
Do you like her?- YES
Are you glad you are buried near
her?—YES
Gwen and I had to be at work in a
couple of hours. We thanked the spirits for their time and answers. We feel like the key to speaking to spirits was to be very respectful. We left
Camp Dennison Cemetery. This was our first communication with the ghosts. We
have made great progress. We plan to use our new tools again soon and post
pictures of them as well. If any of you know or have heard of Mr. Orville
McClain, buried in the cemetery at Camp Dennison, death year of 1981, please
help him…or beware. We have word from a reliable source that he has some
unfinished business to attend to before he crosses over to the other side.
That’s all for now.
Until next time, God Speed.
Dead Man's Curve
Last night we journeyed to Dead Man's Curve in Bethel, just past the Startlite Drive In. For those of you who don't know, Dead Man's Curve is supposed to be one of the most haunted places in the area. Here's some info on it:
http://www.forgottenoh.com/Counties/Clermont/deadmanscurve.html
When it was built, the road went up over a hill and curved sharply. Even when horses were the main transportation, people would roll to their death after falling off the curve. Cars only made it worse. Hundreds died on this road. It was so dangerous that in 1969, the State of Ohio straightened the road out and made it into a four lane highway. There was a ribbon cutting and everything. But in October of that year, five teenagers were driving down the road when a green Roadrunner came flying at them at over 100 mph. Five people died in the crash. Only one survived. Since then, the road, which should be safe, has taken almost a hundred of victims. Ever since that wreck, some creepy stuff has been happening. A faceless hitchhiker has been seen along the road between 1:20 and 1:40am. It is said that he will jump out at passing cars, causing them to stop, and then he will jump up and chase people down the road. A green Roadrunner has also been seen driving along the road, or parked beside the road. One time, some girls who had heard the stories saw a Roadrunner parked on the road. They stopped and got into the car, and took some pictures. When they developed the pictures, a ghost hunter they were friends with saw them and realized that they license plate number was the same as that of the Roadrunner that had killed those teenagers in 69.
Every book or article we read about it was packed full of warnings to avoid the road between 1:20 and 1:40. It is very seriously dangerous, and there have been multiple reports of the faceless man. It's on the list of the world's most haunted roads: http://listverse.com/2009/10/29/10-roads-that-will-scare-you-stupid/
So of course we had to visit.
We started out our first serious night of hunting at Walmart, getting some gear: super effective flashlights and awesome spirit animal shirts. We stopped at home to get the rest of our supplies.
We then hit up iHop for a little pregame.
Dead Man's Curve is supposed to be right at the junction of 125 and 222. We headed out on 222. About halfway there, we drove through a whole lot of really thick smoke, but there was no fire anywhere. The back roads are all really dark and curvy. After about a 25 minute drive...we arrived in Bethel. We parked in a nearby parking lot across from a very dismal looking house. Holly really wanted to go break into it. However, there was a police cruiser parked nearby so we decided this might not be the night for a B&E. We waited for some time, then decided to spend the remainder of our time at a nearby Walmart parking lot. We are fans of Walmart.
While waiting in the nearby Walmart parking lot we noticed something very strange. Even though it was past 1am on a Friday morning, this Walmart was very busy. The first thing we saw was a mother with a shopping cart with her small child. Who grocery shops with their child at 1am? Only a few seconds later we saw another mother and father with a baby leaving Walmart! A few minutes after that, a bizarre truck entered the parking lot. As it neared a cart, it started slowing down to about 1 or 2 mph. It purposefully, slowly, ran into the cart. These occurrences were very strange to us, even cult like, especially so late.
As the clock struck 1:18 we headed out of Walmart parking lot toward Dead Man's Curve. At 1:20 we turned onto the curve. About 30 feet into the curve, it became very very dark. We saw no hitchhiker, but we definitely felt something eerie. We drove to the end of dead man's curve, turned around, and headed back the opposite way, in the total darkness. Once again, no faceless hitchhiker was seen, but needless to say, the road itself did scare us silly.
So we didn't die...this time. But this is just the beginning. Here's some pictures from our adventure. You can form your own opinions about what's in them....

6/14 Heading to Dead Man's Curve
We're going hard in the paint tonight. Heading to Dead Man's Curve at 1:20. Will post pictures. Hopefully we come across some faceless hitchhikers. Maybe we'll offer the poor dude a ride.

Covered Bridge 6/11
We started strong out of the gate today. We decided to look around the Stonelick Bridge and the satanic church that is supposed to be in the area. We had read about the Devil's Church just past the covered bridge and we had gotten it confused with Hell's Church (guess we didn't realize how much satanism was in the area). We went there around three o' clock today. The covered bridge was kind of hard to find. All the roads leading up to it are extremely narrow. Every time we came across a car coming the other way, we had to almost go off the road to have room for us both. Thanks goodness we had a GPS. The Google directions I got were completely wrong. But even the GPS had a hard time finding the place. We kinda just stumbled upon the right road and a "Covered Bridge Ahead" sign. When we got up to the bridge there was three road closed signs blocking the bridge. We parked our car in a gravel driveway and got out to look around. There had been no warning that the road was closed and only the bridge was closed, with signs on both sides. Nothing looked wrong with it so we ducked under the signs. We saw the only window where you're supposed to see the dead man hanging at night. We continued along. Nothing seemed wrong with the bridge and we still don't know why it was closed.
Because we were confused, we were looking for the chimney of Hell's Church. We went down a couple trails, but these all led to the creek, no evil churches. We came across a really nice house that was just abandoned. It was pretty strange. All the houses around it were fine but this one was overgrown. All the doors and windows were open. We were about to go in when we realized that the floor was collapsed in. I was uncomfortable with where I left my car (in a driveway, with my purse and the windows down), so we got the address of one of the houses and went back across the bridge, planning on putting the address into the garmin and finding another way around.
The gps ended up taking us in a huge circle (15 minute trip) back to the closed bridge. Our GPS was really having a hard time out there. So we parked in a better spot and got out again. This time, I googled "satanic church batavia" on my phone. I was having a hard time getting service for I was able to pull open a page saying that the satanic church was just past the steel bridge, behind the big red church. We had seen the steel bridge on our first trip across. The bridge was shut down, but there was another road bridge right beside it. We didn't have to cross that bridge to get to it though. The church was called St. Philomena Catholic Church. We did some research later and St. Philomena was this Greek Princess whose father converted to Christianity. When she was 13, an Emperor fell in love with her. When she wouldn't marry him, he tried to kill her. He did a bunch of crazy stuff, like burning her, tying her to an anchor and drowning her, shooting her and finally decapitating her. Apparently, angels kept saving her and healing her, until finally she died when he cut off her head. That church was pretty freaky, even in day light. It was painted red and had a sign outside that said it was the first catholic church in the area or something like that. It was surrounded by graveyards. Nobody was around. Right in front of the church was a big NO TRESPASSING sign, like right in front of the front door, which seemed strange for a church.
We continued on foot, and still looking for the chimney, because we were confused. There's a gravel road that leads away from the church that we followed. On our way down, there was no one out. Pretty much everything looked like it could have been a satanic church. Every house and barn we passed was in some sort of decay. When we first walked past the first graveyard, both Holly and I felt the temperature significantly drop. A little while later it was getting really really hot. So maybe we'll check out that specific area when we go back. We went past a pretty creepy barn/stable building where we both agreed look like Satan probably lived and decided that if we ever needed to hide bodies, that that would be the place to do it. The trail went up a hill and into the woods. We were gonna keep walking, but we came to the gate that has about 12 no trespassing signs on it and a handwritten threat to shoot anyone on sight. We looked to see if we could see what was up there, and we saw an orange house and an old shed. We were pretty frustrated by now, so we turned around and went back. On our way back we saw like three guys on ATVs riding around. One had a big knife thing that he was using to cut away branches from trails. I don't think they were mad at us. We didn't look too suspicious I think. We were just two 20 year old girls on foot. Holly was convinced that one of the guys was gonna kill us though. We looked around the graveyard a bit. Nothing out of the ordinary. When we got into my car and thought we'd try to loop around from the other direction and drive the gravel path, but we couldn't find the street or the church in the garmin. We ended up getting distracted by a weird sounding church under "Places of Worship" in the garmin. We drove to it and it was creepier than anything else we had seen that day. It was right off of 28, near Buckwheat, up a long hidden driveway that we missed the first time. It was a really really nice, huge house that was completely empty. The windows were huge, we could see right inside. It looked really clean inside, but the outside was completely overgrown with vines covering most the windows and doors, except one. It was a red door and a path had been cut leading right to it. It was overgrown but accessible. That place definitely needs some more investigation.
When I got home, I did a little research. Devil's Church and Hell's Church are two different places.
Here's some info on Hell's Church, it's off of 32 and all that's left is the chimney: http://www.strangeusa.com/Viewlocation.aspx?id=7387
Devil's Church is in the area that we were in. It's supposed to be a huge barn. Like I said, there were a lot of barns around the place. The two places that it says it could be, either behind the church or at the end of the gravel road, neither places we investigated. Obviously we need to learn to do a little more research before diving into places like this. http://www.strangeusa.com/Viewlocation.aspx?id=7631&action=Comment+Added&TimeStamp=6/11/2012%206:31:43%20PM#cmt=
If you read the comments, you can start to hear about how damn creepy the people around the place are. I think that that might be the big secret of this area. They definitely sound like they're hiding something....
We did decide to consult the experts thought after our hunt today. We went to Enchanted Moments and told them about what we were doing and any advice that they had. There's actually a woman speaking about haunted places in Milford on Friday in Enchanted Moments. She is also starting the Milford Paranormal Society. The woman at Enchanted Moment also said that they have haunted tours every once in a while and that they go on ghost hunts from time to time that we can be a part of. They gave us a few good leads. We'll definitely go to see that woman speak on Friday.
All in all, it was a good first hunt. Can't wait to get back into it!
Intro
Holly and I have come to the consensus that Milford is haunted. While we still have a firm belief that the epicenter of the hauntedness is in the old Milford Kroger, but first we have decided to explore all the known (and unknown) haunts in Milford. This blog will chronicle our hunts in and around Milford. Because we could not find a satisfactory Haunted Milford book or guide, this blog can act as a guide for any aspiring Milford Ghost Hunters.
A little about us. We have never gone ghost hunting before or really had any significant experiences with ghosts. We have both always held the belief that there is something weird about Milford. This is our first time attempting this, but we're going for it full speed ahead.
This is just a brief introduction, I'm sure I'll get into more later.
Some place's we'll explore:
The Stonelick covered bridge and the satanic church nearby
Dead Man's Curve
Promont Museum
Row House
The haunted music hall
Milford Main
Camp Dennison
Lucy Run
Williamsburg High School
Peaceful Valley
Infirmary/Jail
I'm sure this list will grow, but here is where we are starting. It's our plan to blow the lid off of this place. We know there's something going on around here, by the end of the summer, we're gonna find out.
